On the 2nd of October members of An Spréach and D8HAC will be brought before the courts for Hearing on politically motivated trumped-up charges pertaining to an incident in Tom Kelly Flats, where the housing activists were investigating whether it was feasible or not to house people in need in some of the empty and unused vacant flats, within the complex.
It wasn’t too long before the hired goons of the state arrived on the scene and quickly hampered any plans made as they arrested all eight activists inside, charging them with trespass. This is the typical reaction that is to be expected from the state whenever people try to organise themselves, and serves as a deterrent for working class from taking matters into their own hands and challenging the hegemony of the state.
Undeterred, An Spréach vow to carry on the fight for decent adequate housing for all, and would appeal to all likeminded persons to come along and show your solidarity for the housing activists who are being dragged before the system, and let us show the state and powers that be, that WE won’t be bullied, or intimidated by state repression!
