Court case continues for Housing Activists

TODAY 10/09/14 members of An Spréach & D8HAC were brought before the decadent justice system continuing on from politically motivated charges relating to an incident which happened in Tom Kelly Flats on Charlemont Street, that saw 8 housing activists arrested, and subsequently charged with ‘trespass’.

The housing crisis as we know it is spiralling out of control, and yet the powers that be seem more preoccupied with dragging people through the courts on ‘crimes’ against property. The laws in this country are made to protect the rights in property more so than people themselves, there is no doubt about that. The only thing the system is good for is creating victims of circumstance.

This shoddy system is responsible for the crisis we all now face, for the hundreds of people sleeping rough under the stars, and for the thousands more in dire need of adequate, decent housing.
Is it too much to ask for a simple roof over one’s own head? In this capitalist cesspit, this would appear to be the case. That is why only by coming together in strong numbers we can ever hope to combat against this appalling manmade disaster, now faced by many, and put an end to the nightmare once and for all.

An injury to one is an injury to all!
Housing is a Right not a Privilege!

Our comrades will appear in the CCJ again on the 2nd of October at 12pm.

An Spréach Ábu!
